1. Introduction

TWOGETHR DIGITAL PLATFORMS (referred to as "we," "us," "our," or "Twogethr") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Twogethr mobile application and related services (collectively, the "App").

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you log in via third-party providers (Google or Apple), we collect your email address, display name, and profile picture. We may also collect your age during the onboarding process.
  • Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information for your profile, such as your relationship status and birthdate.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the App, such as:
    • Features you interact with (e.g., Movie Swiping, Games, Communication, Memory Vault, The Board).
    • Your preferences (e.g., movie preferences indicated through swiping and selections).
    • Technical information, including device type, operating system, app version, and IP address used for security and service operation.
  • User-Generated Content: We store the data you choose to input into the App, including photos and notes in the Memory Vault, sticky notes, images, and connections on The Board, answers to relationship questions, and custom prompts you submit.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Providing and Maintaining the App: To operate the App, provide features, personalize your experience, and ensure the App functions correctly.
  • Account Management: To manage your user account, including registration, sign-in, and session management.
  • Feature Functionality: To enable the core features of the App, such as movie swiping, games, communication questions, the Memory Vault, and The Board.
  • Personalization: To personalize your experience, such as suggesting movies based on your preferences.
  • App Improvement: To analyze usage data to understand how users interact with the App and improve its functionality, design, and user experience. This data is generally used in an aggregated and anonymized form.
  • Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide support.
  • Safety and Security: To ensure the safety and security of the App and our users, including preventing misuse and addressing potential issues.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including Cloudflare for application hosting, realtime connections and private file storage, and PlanetScale for database hosting. Google and Apple process their respective sign-in flows. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on our App of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • Encryption: We use encryption to protect data in transit and at rest.
  • Secure Storage: We store your information on secure servers with appropriate physical and technical safeguards.
  • Access Controls: Access to your personal information is limited to authorized personnel who need it to perform their jobs.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your shared content remains available while your account or an archived partnership exists. Separating archives the space for its original two participants to read. A future partner cannot access that archive. Explicitly reuniting restores the surviving content of the same space.

You can delete your account in Settings and choose to keep all submitted content under “Deleted User” or remove all content you submitted. This choice covers memories, photos, board content, answers, movie ratings, watchlist additions, custom prompts, signals, game history, feedback and saved drafts. Your account, profile and sign-in credentials are removed either way. Retained content keeps its existing privacy rules and may still identify you. When removing your content, your partner’s own photos and other contributions are preserved; mixed-author memories can remain as neutral “Shared memory” containers. Shared game history is removed because a round contains both players’ moves. Shared content is removed when neither original account remains.

Account access is revoked immediately. File deletion is processed through retryable background jobs. Backups may retain older records until their retention period expires. Creating a new account, even with the same sign-in provider, does not restore access to a deleted account’s spaces.

7. Children's Privacy

Twogethr is intended for users who are 16 years of age and older. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfer

If your information is transferred, stored, or processed outside of Australia, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is protected in accordance with Australian privacy laws.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our App and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the App after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
